Koh Hong is a very outstanding island located in the northwest of Ao Nang. Almost compleately surrounded by Limestone Mountain, thebay in the morth of this island is so similar to a hall, and this is the reason why the island is called Koh Hong, which means a hall island.
Koh Hong has two major beaches in the front and the back of the island. The former is the main port, so it is not very goof for swimming; whereas the latter is a nice for sunbathing diving and canoeing.

Koh Hong is quite a popular island for both Thai and foreign travelers. It is the location of Than Bok Khorani National Park Ranger Unit. There are two sandy beaches in the front and the back. The former is the main port, so it is not very suitable for a swim; shereas the latter is a nice diving spot around 10-30 feet deep.
In the morth is a much curved bay surrounded by Limestone Mountains so that it looks like a hall. This is the reason why this island is called Koh Hong, or a hall island. Inside is a sandy beach and mangrove forests where you can enjoy kayaking, or walking during the low tide.
The amazing sandy beach surrounded by toweing hills of Koh Hong is indeed one of the highlights of Krabi attractions.
The front beach in the south of the island is a place where visitors often come to lie down on the beach and canoe all along to the hall in the north.
