Immersion stands for the illusion of being
submerged in a virtual world; full-body immersion
means that the body’s free movements are actually
information to be read by the computer;
simulation is a set of computer graphics with a
degree of realism; interaction means that one
interacts with electronic representations of real
things; artificiality is a world constructed by men;
telepresence means that one is present from a
distant location as though it was close up; and,
finally, networked communications is the shared
construct of virtual worlds.
