Beautiful and compact restaurant in the Cannareggio neighbourhood, a little off the beaten track, but all the more charming for it. We had a fantastic dinner here during a recent trip to Venice, and of all the places we ate, it's the one we would rush back to. The menu is a lovely amalgamation of traditional local recipes and flavours with modern techniques and presentation. All of this dishes we ordered were sublime, with a special shout for the Dory fillets cooked 'en papillote' and the seabass fillet with a basil sauce. We don't typically eat three courses, but couldn't resist either the tiramisu (best I've had) or the semifreddo with pistachio.
In a town where nothing every really feels 'cheap' we at least felt our dinner at Osteria L'Orto dei Mori represented great value.
