Several noteworthy differences between countries were observed regarding the perception and attitude indices. For example, compared with respondents from other countries, the Dutch were the least concerned with the environment in general as well as air pollution and noise specifically and the least annoyed at home by road-traffic air pollution and noise. Moreover, they had the lowest perceived sensitivity to pollutants, the least difficulty relaxing in polluted location, and agreed significantly more often with the statement that the government had done its best to reduce air and noise pollutants.
