The third step is to learn from the experiences of other organizations
and constantly look for windows of opportunity to introduce the benefits of
knowledge management. In pursuing this, there is need to capitalize on the
Internet and seek the assistance of the IT department to provide the necessary
tools. Efforts should be exerted to find out what KM possibilities are available
with existing and available technology and where KM would be most valued.
By talking to people involved with strategic initiatives, it might be possible to
translate some of the experiences of other organizations into concrete policies
and actions that could prevent repeating earlier mistakes.
