You may login using your email address and password that you used to create your Spirit participant application. PARTICIPANT HANDBOOK:
Below are just a few of the very important points of information you should review from the Participant Handbook. To make sure you are thoroughly prepared for your program, you should review the Participant Handbook and the Cultural Activities Handbook located in the Participant Support Center.
COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR EMPLOYER:
If you received a Spirit job offer but have not signed it to accept your position, please do so today. Return the signed document to Education Live. Please inform Education Live of your flight details and transportation plans to arrive to your employer. You should also email or call your employer to confirm the details of your arrival and schedule a pickup, if applicable. If you have problems contacting your employer by email or phone, please contact Education Live.
SUBMIT FLIGHT INFORMATION TO SPIRIT:
To make sure that Spirit and your employer are ready for your arrival, submit your flight information in the Participant Support Center on Spirit's website (http://spiritexchange.com/participants/participant_login.asp). You must submit your complete flight information to Spirit as least two weeks before your DS-2019 program start date to ensure that you are covered by medical insurance during your entire stay in the USA.
ARRIVAL DATE:
Your program start date is 5/21/2014. You should arrive to your employer no later than your program start date and inform them at least 2 weeks in advance of your arrival information. If you will arrive after your program start date, inform Spirit immediately, so that your program start date can be adjusted in SEVIS.
APPLY FOR A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER:
To begin working in the USA, you must apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). Please review the Online Orientation for information on how to apply for a SSN. In most cases, your employer requires that you apply for your SSN before your arrival at your employer. Please refer to your Spirit job offer for information on when and where you should apply for your SSN. Social Security offices are not always located in small towns or rural areas. To find the Social Security office closest to your employer or arrival city, go to Local Office Search at www.ssa.gov .
PROGRAM VALIDATION:
Don't forget to validate your program shortly after your arrival at your employer and within 7 days of your arrival in the USA. You must complete an online SEVIS Update form at www.spiritexchange.com/participants/validate_visa.asp. After Spirit receives your completed SEVIS Update, you will receive an email confirmation usually within 48 hours of submitting the online form. Failure to submit your SEVIS Update within 7 days of your arrival in the USA will result in automatic program termination.
MEDICAL INSURANCE INFORMATION
The UnitedHealthcare/Global Secutive plan provides coverage for accidents and sickness during your program with Spirit. To obtain your unique medical insurance ID number and print a copy of your insurance card, please go to www.eSecutive.com/MyInsurance . Create your account using Spirit’s certificate number 1190005 and your date of birth.
To contact UnitedHealthcare when you are in the USA, call 1-800-251-1712.
CHECK EMAIL FREQUENTLY:
Please be sure to check your email at least once per week during your program to ensure you are up-to-date.
