The research show many benefits of read- alouds , but research evidence about how best to implement read- alouds is scarce. However ,teachers identified as excellent at read-alouds do tend to have some common practices, such as setting a purpose for the reading , selecting books that are highly interesting to the children, becoming familiar with the book before starting to read it aloud to children, reading in an animated and fluent fashion, making connections to children’s independent reading and also to their writing and ,as well as cncouraging discussion about the book before, during and after reading .
