Multi-Touch Tables Educate and Entertain Children at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, France
Systems integrator MTC Arscenique (www.arscenique.com) is the designated Strategic Dealer of GestureTek’s gesture control technologies in France. As a leading supplier of interactive multi-media display solutions for events, exhibits and retail locations, Arsenique was called upon to bring life to an interactive display for the exhibition called “In the Shadows of Dinosaurs” at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris France.
GestureTek’s 55” Illuminate multi-touch tables were the technology of choice for Arscenique and its project partner Tralalere to present interactive dinosaur-inspired game content in a modern and innovative way, that would educate and entertain both children and parents alike.
Arscenique and Tralere created two easy-to-play interactive games to help museum visitors learn about the rise and fall of the dinosaurs and other species that roamed the earth at the same time. Two tables were used for the exhibit, one that demonstrated the various animals that existed in the time of the dinosaurs, and one that explained the way those animals lived amongst them.
“GestureTek’s multi-touch tables are well-suited for museum installations,” said Emmanuel Ducros, CEO of MTC Arsenique. The multi-touch interface allows several children to interact with the table simultaneously and the display’s durable construction can withstand the rigours of steady use over the long term. As well, the automatic start/stop mechanism makes operation even easier for museum staff.”
“Reaction to museum’s dinosaur exhibit has been fantastic,” according to Ducros. “Over 3000 people per day visit the exhibit and often there can be as many as 10 or more children at a time using table and discovering what it has to offer.”
