3.1. Digestive enzymes in 1-year old abalone
Trypsin activity of 1-year old abalone was not affected by water temperature, dietary protein level, or the interaction between these two factors (Table 1). The α-amylase activity signi ficantly increased as water
temperature increased from 14 to 18 to 22 °C (Table 1 ). Moreover, α-
amylase activity was also signi ficantly in fluenced by dietary protein
level (27 b 30 = 33 = 36% CP; Table 1 ). The α-amylase activity was
not signi ficantly affected by the interaction between water temperature
and dietary protein level (Table 1). Lipase activity in 1-year old abalone
was signi ficantly lower at 14 and 18 °C than at 22 °C (Table 1). Moreover, lipase activity of abalone at 14 and 18 °C was not statistically different. Lipase activity was not signi ficantly affected by dietary protein
level, or the interaction between water temperature and dietary protein
level (Table 1).
