It can be observed in Fig. 16 that the energy exchanged with the grid reduces with increasing storage size up to a certain point and then saturates henceforth. This means that even with large storage of up to 75 kW h, there is still a minimum amount of energy drawn/fed to the grid and it is not possible to make the EV–PV charger grid independent. This is especially true for a country like Netherlands which shows five times difference in summer and winter sunshine.
