Treatments
All broilers were fed common starter (1 to 14 d) and grower (14 to 28 d) diets in crumble and pellet form, respectively. During the finishing phase (28 to 42 d), the broilers were provided diets based on corn, soybean meal, and an animal by-product blend (Pro-Plus, 60% CP) [11] that differed in AA density. These treatments were deficient (D), low (L), high (H), or excessive (E) in dietary AA density. Nutritional information for the dietary treatments is included in Table 1.
