To calculate the effects of fuel transportation on GHG emission, the following scenario is considered. It is assumed that all 140,000 tons of waste are transported using a special type of light truck with capacity of 2.5 tons, which are commonly used in southern Iran. In addition, the average distance for each trip is assumed to be 60 km, which is in accordance with the geography of the region. Therefore, the net total distance that should be traversed by the light trucks is 3,360,000 km.
