The pathogen associated with vanilla rot was
identified based on the cultural and
morphological characters. Cultural characters
of the pathogen such as rate of growth, growth
pattern etc. in the potato dextrose media were
studied. Morphological characters of the
pathogen like length of sporangia, L/B ratio,
stalk length etc were studied by slide culture
technique using lactophenol cotton blue
staining.
