Okay, so I get that being a member of the Vortex Club and hanging out with Victoria and Nathan was all sorts of weird and Warren ignoring her to clearly be with Stella was another unusual thing but her reaction right after seeing Warren and Stella was “Oh no…this is totally fucked up!” Like they took the time to show us Warren/Stella as being one of two key instances that freaked her out and sent her running to Chloe. But given that Max has been very clear about not wanting Warren to like her like that and thinking he should be with Stella, it’s very weird she is disturbed by them being together. Unless maybe she takes Warren not greeting her to mean they aren’t even friends maybe.
On one level, despite not being romantically interested in Warren (and not making that clear to him as of yet), I Max does like the affection he has for her. Warren and Kate were only people two went out of their way to befriend Max when she arrived at Blackwell and in the new timeline she’s created, who’s to say that they even know each other? Like, Warren looks at her like he doesn’t even know her, and Stella doesn’t even acknowledge her.
I figure that stuff happened because “time limit, end of the game” but that’s something to take notice of.
The idea losing any friends she has, Chloe included, is scary idea for Max, who’s biggest fear appears to be isolation (either out of a product of her own actions, or something not dissimilar to what Chloe experienced in the original timeline). Hence, “Oh no… this is totally fucked up”.
