1. Cognitive restructuring of clients’ attentional focus, thinking styles, fixed ways of
perceiving aversive events, and rumination.
2. Reducing general tension, arousal to provocation, and impulsive reactions by
training controlled breathing, deep muscle relaxation, and use of tranquil imagery.
60 minutes per session. To assure consistency
among groups, the leaders prepared a group process
plan and summarized, discussed, and clarified
the purpose and procedure of the group session
with observers at a preview meeting. Data were
collected at 1 week before the first group session,
at the fifth group session, the last group session,
and 2 weeks after the final session. Descriptive
statistics, 2 test, t test, and GEE, were used for
data analysis.
