plained by the decrease in C:N ratio from 9.6 to 7.1. The BMP yield
of the fresh sample increased by 12% in the second year, again corresponding
to an increase in the C:N ratio. A small decrease was
observed in the dry solids content of the Ulva (19.6–17.8%). The
volatile solids content also decreased from 11.2% to 10.4%. A larger
variation was observed in the dried samples but this can be attributed
to the level of completion of drying.
