6. The process of community change can be complex and challenging, but the model breaks down the process into a series of manageable steps. Moving from no readiness to the highest level is a long step. Moving from the lowest level to the next one up is manageable and easy to understand.
7. It creates a community vision for healthy change. The levels of readiness mirror the levels of community competency, and describe, to some extent, how a healthy community handles issues.
