Malaysia is moving forward to be an
industrialized economy. Malaysia moved from
material production to manufacturing. The Malaysian
manufacturing sector contributed 32% of the gross
domestic product (GDP) in 2007, exports of
manufactured products account for 75% of Malaysia’s
total export in 2007 (MIDA, 2007). The manufacturing
industries have become the economy’s main source
of growth in recent years. However, such rapid
industrialization has detrimental effect on the
environment due to the increase in the pollution,
waste, and rapid consumption of natural resources.
