Lewis’ Western Trip
The major reason for the Ford refusal to contract with Welland was the camper’s Weak design and interior layout. The camper had been shown at the January “1994 Recreational Vehicle Show” in Toronto. The recorded comments from males were positive. They liked the style, clear lines and “marine” look of the unit. Women, on the other hand, would enter the unit and almost immediately walk out. The stark, antiseptic all-white fibre glass interior looked like “a public washroom” or was “very unfriendly.”
