Finnish children do not start school until they are 7. They have more recess, shorter school hours than many U.S. children. The homework, they give lees to their students. Their reception class teachers at some point in accountability measures assess children. The progress children make at primary school is currently measured formal from the results of national (SAT) test in English and Maths taken by children at the age of six or seven, and their teachers’ assessment of their ability.
