To promote cooperation between the government and migrant workers, the Thai government should encourage migrant workers toparticipate in health care services, such as family planning, health promotion, disease prevention, and nursing care and treatment, all of which are intended to maintain their health and well-being. These activities should be led by a health officer trained in the community’s customs, culture, socioeconomic structure, political culture, and environment.
The Thai Government should develop an electronic database for the personal histories and illness histories of migrant workers and should educate
migrants about the prevention and treatment for pesticide poisoning diseases and occupational injuries.
In addition, it should improve the information systems covering migrant workers, because accurate data will assist in the planning of health care services and disease prevention strategies.
