September, Sart Day of the tenth lunar month
Sartmeans autumn. The merit-making of Sart falls on the end of the tenth lunar month. People take food such as krayasart (Thai dessert) banana and other food to offer to monks. After finish-ing the offering ceremony, the people offer the rest of the krayasart to neigh-bours. The Sart Rite is the beginning of the rice growing period. People hold this rite to welcome the rice shoots and bring luck for the rice crop.
