Vetiver grass (VG) is a topical plant which can grow in differance environmental and deep root systems, spread into the soil directly. The grass has no rhizomes or stolons and depth of up to 3 meters []. VG has been successfully used for land protection, such as soil and water convention []. The leaf of VG has a hight cellulosic content , then could be used a matrial for bioethanol productions.
In this study, VG cultiveted in Thailand was used to determine the composition and pretreated with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) follow with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) ,then were hydrolysis by commercial enzyme. Scanning electron microscope for surface morphology of the pretreated and hydrolyte VG.
