Since that day, (y/n) and Goldie had become inseparable. Goldie got help with his ‘inner demon’ and with (y/n)’s help, it vanished almost entirely. Though if he got very mad, he would retreat to the Back Room and let out a small rage to calm his temper.
(Y/n) managed to convince the police that Mike’s disappearance was something that the pizzeria wasn’t responsible for, however, Jeremy didn’t seem to buy it, though he stopped pestering her with questions and left the subject entirely.
Goldie’s endoskeleton was returned and his suit was used again in the pizzeria. Freddy and Bonnie’s human forms were forever lost, however, Bonnie’s spirit had managed to connect itself to (y/n) and became visible only to her.
“It just don’t feel the same without you two,” confessed (y/n) to Bonnie. It was almost closing time and (y/n) was in the security office with Bonnie’s spirit sitting on the desk.
“I can tell,” said Bonnie. He looked to his right and nodded his head. “Freddy says he misses talking to you.”
(Y/n) smiled and looked to Bonnie’s side. Even though she couldn’t see him, she knew Freddy would be watching over her and Goldie.
“I do too, buddy,” replied (y/n). “Goldie wanted to say ‘Hello’ and asked for forgiveness once again.”
Bonnie looked to his side and nodded as Freddy said his answer.
“He says ‘It’s fine. He knows Goldie didn’t mean it. He’s glad that you two are happy together’,” translated Bonnie as his ears perked at the sound of incoming footsteps. A mop of golden hair appeared at the door as (y/n) smiled. Now that he had his endoskeleton back, Goldie officially had eyes.
He had the brightest turquoise eyes (y/n) had ever seen.
“H-hey (y/n)! I-is Freddy here?” asked Goldie nervously. (Y/n) nodded as she turned back to face Bonnie. The purple haired spirit smiled softly at the golden haired male’s concern.
“He says he understands everything. He misses you too,” revealed (y/n). Goldie smiled as tears lined his turquoise eyes. He walked up and hugged (y/n) as he replied.
“I miss you too… Brother…”
Goldie let go of (y/n) and took her hand.
“That others are waiting for us. We should get going,” reassure Goldie as he tugged at (y/n)’s hand. (Y/n) smiled as she waved goodbye to Bonnie.
“Take care.”
“I should be saying that to you,” joked the purple haired male. (Y/n) smiled as she and Goldie walked to the front of the restaurant. Once there, they greeted Foxy and Chica as they restated their plan. They agreed to go to the new restaurant in town for their double date and soon they departed from the pizzeria.
While walking towards town, a sudden breeze sweep past (y/n). She stopped and Goldie looked concerned.
“Is everything ok?”
(Y/n) turned her attention back to her boyfriend as she smiled slightly.
“It’s ok… It’s just the cold,” revealed (y/n). Goldie nodded as he continued with Chica and Foxy.
Sighing, (y/n) looked up towards the starry sky and felt a tear run down her cheek.
“Rest in peace… Freddy…”
“I will…”
(Y/n) snapped her gaze away from the sky and looked around for the source of the voice. Turning around she gasped.
The brown haired male was leaning against a lamp post a block away from her. He smiled sadly at her as he waved at her. (Y/n) felt herself tear up as she waved back to him.
"I'll miss you..." said (y/n). Freddy smiled, a happier one this time.
"I do too... But don't worry... I'll be taking care of you two until the end of time..." replied Freddy as he turned around and walked into the darkness of the night. "Take care of my brother for me. I trust you with his life... and in return, I trust him with yours..."
(Y/n) watched with awe as Freddy's spirit disappeared into the night. She smiled and crossed her heart.
"You can trust me... and I know I can trust Goldie..."
(Y/n) then turned back around and ran up to a smiling Goldie, who saw everything. They hugged as the group resumed their walk towards the restaurant.
All the way, (y/n) could have swore she heard Freddy singing an all too familiar song...
