Most of these compounds have been previously reported to occur in
olive leaf extracts. Benavente-Garcia et al. (2000) reported that
oleuropein was the most abundant compound in olive leaves followed
by hydroxytyrosol, the 7-O-glucosides of luteolin and apigenin, and
verbascoside. Pereira et al. (2007) also characterized oleuropein and lueolin-7-O-glucoside as themost abundant phenolic compounds present
