What are the popular coupons searched & when did coupons first come on scene?
Hi X,
Coupons have a been around for ages, and over the years, have firmly cemented their position in the world of commerce. As humble as they may appear, coupons are in fact one of the primary drivers of spending in the US. In fact, up to 70% of consumers in America still look to traditional coupons for savings.
But what do those numbers mean to us from an Asian point of view? Well, nothing really since we know that the coupon scene in this region is vastly different from the West.
Being a platform that processes over a thousand coupons a day gives iprice a unique point of view when it comes to analyzing the Asian couponing scene. We took a closer look at the data and pulled out some interesting facts. For example, our top 100 stores received over 80,000 searches for coupons and discount codes in the last month, which is a firm indicator that couponing is alive and well in the region. We also discovered that contrary to popular belief, the Fashion category (15.07%) was not the most popular search for deal hunters – that honor went to the Home & Furniture (16.16%) category.
We invite you to find out all the details in our recent article titled A Snapshot Of The Asian Couponing Market. We’ve also condensed all our key findings into the Couponing 101 infographic at http://iprice.my/insights/snapshot-of-couponing/.
