Abstract
Enterprise storage network is an architecture used to extend the reach and flexibility of a storage infrastructure in order to leverage its value to more of the enterprise. What this basically means is that an enterprise storage network architecture consists of both enterprise storage and storage networking technologies to deliver a common way to manage, protect and share information regardless of distance or scale. When designing and implementing an enterprise storage network, one has to take into consideration how much growth, the number of connections, information security, how it will scale, availability, performance and the services required. An examination is made of what has driven the need for an enterprise storage network, what technologies are involved, when each can be best applied and some real-life examples.
