Loading new operating software to ASD 535
The operating software is located on the Flash PROM in the ASD 535. A software upgrade is performed via the USB interface of the AMB 35 by means of the ASD Config configuration software. Selecting the SW upgrade in the "ASD Config" calls up the "TASKING M16C FLASHER" program. To upgrade the SW, the S4 switch on the AMB 35 in the ASD 535 is switched to position "P" and the "HW reset" button is actuated.
Attention: fire incident control, remote alerting!
Warning: Actuating the "HW reset" in the S4 "P" switch position triggers the fault relay.
When upgrading the SW on the ASD 535, it is therefore absolutely essential that fire incident controls and remote alerting on superordinate systems (FACP) are switched off beforehand.
Step: 1
Put the S4 switch on the AMB 35 in position "P".
Prepare ASD 535 for SW upgrade; ASD 535 switches to Program Mode.
Step: 2
On AMB 35, briefly press the "HW reset" button.
LED 2 on AMB 35 is continuously lit

Select SW upgrade in the "ASD Config".
The "TASKING M16C FLASHER" window opens with the "Flash" tab.

Select the "Communication" tab and then select:
Target Connection: Serial
"Port:" COM4;
"Baud rate:" 38400;
Display of the required communication settings.
Step: 5
Select the "Target" tab and then "M16C20 - M16C60".
Step: 6
Select the "Flash" tab and then:
Click "Browse" to locate the directory containing the new operating SW
Select the new operating SW file and confirm with "Open"
Tick "Full erase", "Program" and "Verify"
Press the "Start" button
Selecting the new operating SW and write actions.
Step: 7
Transmission to the ASD 535 begins. When it is finished, the window shown in point (6) appears again.
Transmission duration approx. 90 s
During the transmission, LEDs 5 and 6 flash on the AMB 35
Step: 8
Put the S4 switch on the AMB 35 in position "R".
ASD 535 is again in Run Mode.
Step: 9
On AMB 35, briefly press the "HW reset" button.
LED 2 on AMB 35 goes out; the segment display flashes the previous switch setting about 4 times (e.g. b22).
Fan starts up
Fault is reset
ASD 535 runs with the previous installation-specific settings
SW upgrade is completed

If required (see current FW description), execute a new initial reset beginning at point (8) after a waiting time of at least 5 min.
Note: Comply with the firmware description for the loaded SW.
