weight of the flowers was taken individually everyday throughout the experimental period. the changes in fresh weight were presented as the percentage of initial weight measurement of water uptake was done by water content in the test tubes every day throughout the experimental period. color on the spathe was neasured with chroma meter . results are expressed as lightness and hue angle all of which relate to visual perception.
the experiments were conducted factorial in a complete randomized design. using 7 flowers per treatment in 2 replications. data were analyzed using pc-sas software package and means were done by duncan's multiple range test.
