Generally, the interventions used by rehabilitation professionals
will consider each patient’s goals and will be selected after assessment
of a patient’s upper limb impairments, together with their
effects on activity and level of participation (Langhorne 2011).
However, upper limb rehabilitation interventions could also be
delivered as part of a group exercise class or circuit training. Additional
interventions may be selected by patients, for example,
commercial gaming devices or fitness equipment that can be used
at home or in fitness centres.
