The methods for generating master grids of Sudoku puzzles presented in the previous
section have shown how the concepts of matrix, permutation, and modular functions
may be used in establishing these procedures. Therefore, they can be used to make
interesting application examples and student projects in teaching college mathematics
courses. Several student projects are suggested in the previous section. Since most
students tend to enjoy games, studies like this may in general help raising students’
interests in learning mathematics.
