The context of self-leadership remains attractive for business because it consists
of a strong intuitive nature and appears almost common-sensical for applications (Manz
& Sims, 1980). The normative approach of self-leadership is pragmatic in that it is a
prescriptive application (Houghton & Neck, 2006). Normative theories are applicable to
business because they explain how something should be done (Houghton & Neck, 2006,
p. 275)
