Forestry management practices can alter the diversity of wood-inhabiting fungi (Bader et al. 1995; Siitonen 2001; Sippola
et al. 2001) as habitats are fragmented, leading to changes in the amounts and proportions of large dead wood to small
dead wood and stages of decay (Lindblad 1998; Fridman & Walheim 2002; Heilmann-Clausen & Vesterholt 2008).
