The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of cooperative learning strategy on mathematics
efficacy in statistics and modeling lesson among second-grade high school students of humanities with a focus
on jigsaw technique. The research was an experimental study with control group pretest-posttest design. The
statistical population included all the second-grade high school girl students of humanities in Uremia City of
Iran. Using multi-stage clustering sampling method, the statistical sample was selected (N = 36) and assigned in
two groups of experimental and control. Before the treatment, Mathematics efficacy scale proposed by Qanbari
(2001) was administered a pretest on the both groups. The control group was taught using conventional teaching
method by teacher while the experimental group was taught through cooperative learning methodology by the
researcher. At the end of ten sessions of treatment, the previously employed Mathematics efficacy scale was readministered
on the both group as posttest. As the research findings revealed, cooperative learning teaching
method focusing on Jigsaw technique was very effective on the students’ mathematics efficacy.
