Leach demonstrated support for the influence of transformational leadership style on organizational commitment in a study that included 101 chief nursing officers,
148 nurse managers, and 651 staff nurses.
The researcher used the Transformational leadership Profile, developed by Sashkin et al, and the Organizational Commitment Scale to evaluate the participants.
The study results showed that when transformational leadership was present in the work
environment and was practiced by the chief nursing officers and nurse managers, staff members reported being less alienated and more strongly committed to the organization.
