Aging is accompanied by biopsychosocial losses that may lead to frailty among the elderly. The search for a good quality of life for the aging population has been the work of the interdisciplinary team. Adequate general health in the elderly is essential to a good quality of life, including a reassessment of oral health and an adjusted diet. This chapter highlights the importance of the dentist in prevention and treatment of oral diseases. Chewing is the first step in the digestive process, and its effectiveness depends on the conditions of the elements of the stomatognathic system, which are controlled by a stable neurologic system. Consequently, good dental health is strongly related to nutrition because of their respective roles in the masticatory functions.
