Recently, the literature on souvenirs has largely focused on tourists'
souvenir purchasing behaviors, including the influence of traveling
motivation on souvenir purchasing behavior; the analysis of souvenir purchasing motivation ; the context of purchasing souvenirs; the associations among the internet, social
networks and souvenir purchasing behaviors; and the effects of product
characteristics on purchasing behavior. In addition, many recent studies have investigated the
authenticity of souvenirs by adopting the perspectives of culture
and aesthetics. For example, examined the development of culinary souvenirs from the perspectives of cultural
tourism and culinary tourism by focusing on the implications
of souvenirs in Japan and Korea. Some studies have also focused on specific souvenirs and described their cultural value
and authenticity
