In our life time, there are not many chances for us to save someone’s life. When I was young, I always dreamed of being a super hero who protects the town by fighting with wicked monsters. In reality, there were no monsters invading the town to get punched at their faces. However, I have done something better and greater than fighting with those imaginative beings, that is, I had saved my loved one’s life.
I had lived with my 79 year-old grandfather who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. One early Saturday morning in July while everybody was at home, my grandfather had been getting a high temperature and he was about to lose his consciousness. He couldn't respond to anyone, including my grandmother. Realizing that his condition was getting worse, my grandfather frantically cried for helps. Fortunately, I was nearby. I dropped everything in my hands and ran as fast as I could to her. The first and only thing in my mind was my grandfather. When I saw how in bad condition he was, it was like my heart was going to stop beating. I could not do anything at first, but, at that time, I was the only person who was strong enough to help my grandfather’s life. My father rushed to start the car. I carefully carried my grandfather in my arms and got him to the car. In good time, we could reach the hospital and manage to save our loved one’s life. All my thought was ‘I did it’. I had been a super hero to my family, especially to my grandfather. This day would be the day that I could never forget. I couldn’t imagine if I had lost my beloved and kind-hearted grandfather. Everything seemed to stop when my grandfather opened his eyes and told me how proud of me he was. I promised to everyone I would never ignore to help everybody’s life, even though he or she was not my family.
In this world, right now, there are so many people who still need some helps. We should always care about surrounding people, not only the ones we love, but also those we may never talk to. From the one who once could save his own grandfather’s life, I am certain to tell you that if you can save one’s life once, you will never stop to save more.
