To me, the meaning is simple and something all of us do on the daily and should learn from. We have something great and amazing and worthwhile and exactly what we want and need, but as human nature has it we get bored and want more, something different exiting new...or so we thought. So we toss it to the side, forget about it, stop giving that thing/person our love. Stop nurturing it. And its then that we realize, usually too late, that what we had was exactly perfect, everything we wanted. This song can be used in any aspect of our lives. You only realize how beautiful you had it after you destroy it and make it not beautiful. Take for granted what we had. Life, friends, career, feelings, the damn weather, frickin anything. Think the grass is greener on the other side. Oops. Passenger wrote a great message and lesson. I think we should all take it to heart and look around and see how amazingly beautiful things might be. Namaste.
