The movie Anger Management staring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson was funny and popular when it was released in 2003. However, out-of-control anger and aggression are problematic behaviors in American society. They catch the public's attention when they escalate into violent acts involving innocent groups of people, especially if there are numerous victims such as the murdered adolescents at Columbine High School and college students at Virginia Tech. Yet lower-level acts of aggression are much more prevalent and of a daily concern to many children within educational institutions. Attempts to decrease aggression have primarily been of two types-prevention and containment. Prevention is the most difficult of these strategies, but also an important one: Research has found that children who are highly aggressive during elementary school years are at greatest risk of physical aggression during adolescence and adulthood (Mash & Wolfe. 2010).
