During antifungal studies it was found that isolated pathogens
can tolerate a high concentration of Mancozeb and Bavistin. No
distinct zones of inhibition were found in the culture plates when
Mancozeb and Bavistin were used even at higher concentration
like 500 lg/ml or more. The copper oxychloride fungicide Blytone
was more effective than other two fungicides. Blytone can inhibit
the fungal growth at a concentration of 200 lg/ml. Control of R.
stolonifer causing fruit rot of stone fruit, using copper oxychloride
fungicide was reported (Korsten et al., 1993). It has also been
reported that higher concentrations of copper compounds in food,
and inhalation or swallowing of the compounds may cause harm in
mammalian bodies (EFSA Scientific Report, 2008). Sometimes
