This literature review on Swedish nursing and psychosocial research concerns clinical implications recommended for
implementation in the field of pediatric oncology. Of the reviewed studies, 15% did not contain any explicit clinical
implications. However, primary areas within clinical implications for practice were found and focus on the development of
clinical practitioners and resource provision. The recommendations concerning staff development consist of (1) becoming
more aware of the child and family's situation; (2) developing routines in health care; (3) offering education and support to children and families; (4) empowering children and families; and (5) working with a caring approach. The recommendations concerning resource provision consist of (6) opportunities for professional growth and (7) valid research results presented as well-formulated clinical implications.
