‘Okay, then,’ Min Ho replied. He was trying to think of ways to sneak in Lee Jong Suk in the conversation when his phone started ringing. He took it out and when he saw the caller ID, he grimaced. Speaking of the devil. ‘Yobuseyo? Oh, Jong Suk-ah.’
Shin Hye shot him a surprised look.
‘Hyung, I heard from my manager just now that you’re attending the premiere later. It really means a lot to me that you could go. I know you’re a very busy man,’ Jong Suk told him.
‘Anya, it’s not a big deal. I haven’t been to the movies a lot last year so I know this is going to be fun. And Bo Young will be there, too. I haven’t seen her in a long time,’ Min Ho replied.
‘Thank you so much, hyung. Your presence alone is probably going to give us one million more viewers,’ he said brightly.
Jashik. Now I know why people like blondie so much. He even knows how to butter up guys. ‘Come on, if there’s anyone who will make that movie a hit, it’s you. You’re very popular lately. Our agency president is a fan.’
‘Ahh, hyung, you’re making me blush,’ Jong Suk gushed. ‘By the way, if you’re not busy after the premiere, I’m hosting a small party at my place. Do you think you can come?’ His tone was so cheerful it was really hard to say no to the guy.
‘Cham na. You and Woo Bin really like parties, huh? Arasso. I’ll just get back to you later if I can make it. I’ll see you at the premiere.’
As soon as Min Ho hung up, he noticed that Shin Hye had been staring at him with a concerned expression on her face. ‘What’s wrong?’ He asked.
‘Oppa, are you and Lee Jong Suk close?’
‘I’m actually not sure,’ Min Ho squinted. ‘It’s more like… we’re in the process of getting close.’ But for the wrong reasons. ‘Why? You and Jong Suk are close, right?’
‘Ahh, yeah,’ Shin Hye nodded. ‘Well, sort of.’
This time, the shrill of Shin Hye’s ring tone filled the room. She picked up her phone from the coffee table. Her eyes widened when she saw the screen. She made a quick glance at Min Ho before she answered.
‘Yobuseyo?’ ‘Hmm, I just arrived in Korea. I’m sorry again that I couldn’t make it.’ ‘Party? I’m not so sure I can. I’m still feeling a little tired.’ She looked at Min Ho who was looking back at her. ‘Ah, really. He is? Chukae.’ She was silent for a while as she listened. A few seconds later, she laughed. ‘Ya, it’s not funny! You made me do it. Woo Bin didn’t talk to me for a day.’
Min Ho frowned at hearing Shin Hye laugh. He looked down at his phone instead. Blondie is really getting on my nerves. He typed a message.
Min Ho: Woo Bin-ah, are you going to Jong Suk’s party tonight?
‘I don’t know. I’ll try, but I can’t promise,’ Shin Hye said, still talking on the phone. ‘Anyway, let me rest first. I hope everything goes well at the premiere. Good luck!’ Shin Hye hung up.
Woo Bin: I have to go since Lee Jong Suk threatened that if I don’t show up, he’ll tell people my secrets. He might actually do it so I have no choice. Are you?
Min Ho immediately turned to Shin Hye. ‘Let’s go to Lee Jong Suk’s party. He just invited you, right? That was him who just called?’
‘Huh? Ah yeah. Keunde oppa, I’m kind of drained so I’m not sure I can go.’
‘You’ll have plenty of sleep before the party,’ he glanced at his watch. ‘Come on, it will be fun. And Woo Bin will be there. We haven’t seen him since the party at his house. Besides, I think it’s time we tell Choi Young Do the truth.’
Shin Hye bit her lip as she tried to mull it over. ‘But we have to come and leave separately.’
‘Of course. We’ll also pretend that we haven’t seen each other in weeks,’ Min Ho replied. ‘You owe it to Jong Suk. You’re not even going to his premiere.’
‘Okay, fine,’ Shin Hye sighed. ‘But if I’m going, then you have to leave now so I can rest.’
Min Ho stayed silent for a while. ‘Uhm. Are we not fooling around a bit?’
‘YA!’
Min Ho smiled cheekily. ‘I’m just joking. For someone who threw herself at me in the van, you’re being so sensitive.’
Shin Hye crossed her arms. ‘Do you want your visiting privileges to my apartment revoked?’
The image of Lee Jong Suk visiting Shin Hye’s apartment suddenly filled his mind. He clenched his jaw.
‘Alright, I’ll leave now. Just make sure I’m the only man who has those visiting privileges!’
Shin Hye laughed. ‘You have unlimited visiting privileges. But I can’t help it if friends drop by sometimes.’
Okay, that touched a nerve. ‘Ahhck. It’s so hard to be your boyfriend. Why do guys just gravitate toward you? I ought to give them a piece of my mind.’ Just you wait, blondie.
‘Ya. It’s even harder to be Lee Min Ho’s girlfriend. What with millions of girls wanting to tear the hair off my head.’
Min Ho stood up and headed to the door. ‘It’s okay, I’ll love you even if you’re bald,’ he said.
Shin Hye followed him and tiptoed to give him a kiss on the cheek. ‘And I’ll love you even if you get us both caught by being so reckless.’
Min Ho smiled. 'Do you want to just get caught and get this over with? Like Rain and Kim Tae Hee.'
'So you do have a death wish,' she replied.
'It's not death when I could finally live in peace with you. Right now, this world is less appealing than you.'
'Aigoo. You're even stealing Kim Tan's lines.'
'That's because I am Kim Tan. Kim Tan is me.'
Shin Hye rolled her eyes and laughed. 'You have to stop saying that. It's messing with people's heads.'
'How come? It's easy to decipher, really. Kim Tan and I are in love with the same girl,' he winked. 'I don't understand why people don't get what I mean by it.'
Shin Hye wrinkled her nose. 'Stop giving people clues. One of these days, someone is going to get it and you'll be sorry.' She opened the door and motioned for Min Ho to step out. 'I'll see you at Jong Suk's party.'
Min Ho smiled. One more clue to one oblivious guy won't hurt.
