The water analysis also reported that the
water was slightly acidic, pH 6.45, which would tend to
stabilize the tetracycline (Harvey, 1998; Wu and Fassihi,
2005). This stability is supported by HPLC analysis
on water samples within 24 h of the start of the study
and those measured right after mixing. Based on previous
work, the medication should be stable for 48 h
(Harvey, 1998).
