Aubrey Schwartz
Aubrey Schwartz (1928- ) was born in New York City. His work at an early stage drew the attention of collectors and museum curators and won him many awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship in Creative Print-making. In 1969 he accepted a professorship at The State University of New York at Binghamton. He taught there for many years (becoming in time Chair of its Department of Fine Art) and influenced the creative lives of many students, some of whom have gone on to distinguish themselves as artists. Twenty-four of his original prints are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A Bestiary, portfolio is in the collection of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.
