In order to enhance this research area, we started developing
a platform, called SenStick [1], to make the experimentation
easier and concentrate on the data analysis in 2014.
The size of the sensor board is 75mm(W) × 10mm(H) ×
5mm(D) and its weight is around 3 (g) including a battery.
On this tiny board, 8 sensors (acceleration, gyro, magnetic,
light, UV, temperature, humidity, and pressure), flash memory,
BLE, battery and charging circuit are embedded in high
density. In 2016, we changed a design in order to solve
several problem.We call it SenStick2. The size of the sensor
board becomes shorter by dividing the sensor into two
boards and connecting them vertically. By updating the
firmware, the battery life of SenStick2 becomes 15 hours
by 40mAh. Also, wireless data synchronization function and
Device Firmware Update (DFU) over BLE have been implemented.
