With the results found in Section 4.2, the adsorption isotherms
can be made for different M/V ratios. Fig. 3 shows the biosorption
isotherms for M/V ratios: 2–5 g L1 using D. antarctica and
L. nigrescens as biosorbent. Both biosorbents showed good results
for treating cadmium contaminated wastewater. The experimental
isotherm data were adjusted to Langmuir and Freundlich models.
Table 1 shows the obtained parameters and coefficients of
determination.
It can be seen from Table 1 that for both biosorbents the best
fitting is found using the Langmuir model; the fitting obtained by
this model was very good, in all cases the R2 values were higher
than 0.95.
