Strain BR-34T was isolated from rhizosphere soil of bamboo
(Phyllostachys nigro var. henonis) in Damyang, Korea,
with inorganic salts–starch agar [International Streptomyces
Project (ISP) medium 4 (Shirling & Gottlieb, 1966)]. This
medium was adjusted to pH 5.5 (HCl), followed by
incubation at 28 uC for 7–10 days. A bacterial culture of
the isolated strain was stored at 286 uC in the presence of
20% (v/v) glycerol.
