In this study, the effect of natural rubber addition with different type of natural rubbers on the morphology of
electrospun PVC fibers is shown in FIGURE 2 (a)-(d) (at voltage of 16 kV, needle tip-to-collector distance of
10cm). 100 fibers were chosen randomly to make a size distribution statistic of every kind of electrospun fibers.
From the observations, diameter for PVC fibers is bigger from fibers that contain natural rubber. The fiber diameters
were gradually decrease from 5-9 μm to 1-3 μm for PVC/LENR and PVC/LENRA fibers, for the higher net charge
density increased the electrical force applied on the jet and cause to decreased fiber diameter. As the natural rubbers
are different, a spindle-like bead formation can be observed on the fibers electrospun PVC/LENRA (FIGURE 1 (c))
and the bead formation was increases as the electrospun fibers were formed with addition of LNR. They were called
as “by products” that often can be seen in electrospinning. It was established that the cause of the beaded fibers is
related to the instability of the jet of sample solution, net charge density carried by the electrospinning, the solution
viscosity and surface tension of the solution [16]. Continuous and smooth fibers could be obtained from PVC/LENR
solution when the other processing parameters were maintained
