Creativity is a hot commodity, often discussed in popular literature and dissected
by the sciences. Creative thinking is a bandwagon that leaders in education and
industry want to ride with posters and banners declaring this as the wave of the
future. Yet, creativity is more than a buzzword. It involves high-level cognitive
processes which include innovative problem solving, an outcome of which comes
from divergent thinking, and the possibility of multiple solutions. Creativity is also
nurtured through an environment that rewards thinking and producing ‘outside
the box’.
